HA milks
In the past many hospitals used to recommend hypo-allergenic (HA) milk, as this was most convenient. These days, however, most advanced hospitals only recommend HA milk in special cases because it did not achieve the desired results and these chemically altered (dairy milk) products were very controversial.
These days HA milks are used neither as a prophylactic defense by parents of children with asthma, hay-fever, a known allergy nor in the case of a premature birth. The only possible use might be as a prophylactic defense against a skin disorder and even in this case, a homeopathic practitioner would never prescribe a chemically altered product. Think of all those vaccinations which contain proteins! Babies develop HA milk allergies particularly after being vaccinated.
Mothers who have not been able to develop a well-adjusted nutrition plan using the expensive HA milks for the first baby, turn to a traditional or soy milk for the second. This is because children had developed allergies despite the use of HA milk or because they encountered problems when converting to "normal" food.
You should breast-feed for as long as possible. Breast feeding provides the best defence against allergies. Special milks will not change the inherited characteristics of the child or the environment in which it lives. It is much more sensible to eat healthily and naturally and thereby to strengthen the immune system of the child rather than weakening it with chemicals. Of course, parents always want the best for their child but unfortunately past recommendations to use HA milks have been driven more by commercial considerations of big business rather than any real concern for the benefit of the children. The best way to avoid dairy milk proteins is to use a soy-milk like Bisoja, specially tailored for your child.
Dairy milk
Full dairy milk should not be given before the 1st year. If you really wish to use dairy milk before that, introduce watered-down dairy milk from not before 9 months. Our indications regarding dairy (full-fat) milk after the 6th month are not a recommendation, but possible instructions using watered-down cow milk on special desire (if a mother wants to give dairy milk early). Change of milk
Change of initial milks is much less critical than changing follow-on milks. Initial milks are all fairly similar: they have to be because of strict regulations! Try one or two trial and travel portions of Bimbosan baby milk, then just use up the other less satisfactory milk and switch over completely to Bimbosan milk to achieve full satisfaction.
Combination feeding
If you are not solely breast-feeding, ask a nutritionist about breast milk compatible products. The Bimbosan baby milks are very well suited to combination feeding. They are intended to be as close to breast milk as possible and contain everything which a baby needs in the first months of its life. Since our tins are hermetically self-sealing, the contents do not have to be thrown away after 3 weeks, as do other baby milks, even if you have used up only a little.
